Miami artist Jamar Germain dishes out a melodic delicacy with “Follow Me,” an R&B cut that channels some smooth old school vibes. The Brooklyn-born singer imbues passion and grace as he croons skillfully through this easy listening bedroom track. “Follow Me” has the potential to pull heartstrings of Germain’s listeners.
The track begins with a steady melodic fanfare, slowly bouncing through as Jamar Germain softly sings over a blissful track. Here, Jamar Germain channels the likes of Usher and Ginuwine in soulful 90’s R&B flair. The track sails smoothly as Germain’s crisp vocals cut lightly into the track’s succulent instrumental, with each verse’s sultry sounds beckoning softly to the listener.
“Follow Me” shines the brightest on its chorus, as Jamar Germain belts out a catchy and anthemic hook. This chorus is tantalizing, with Germain dishing out a splendid and melodic vocal riff as he captivates the audience.
The track’s instrumental is well written and composed, although we would like to see more attention paid to Germain’s vocals. Despite having a fantastic performance on this cut, Germain’s vocals doesn’t seem to synergize well with the track’s overall composition. A little bit of polish could allow “Follow Me” to shine even more, and even thrust it into radio-friendly territory.
Jamar Germain sounds absolutely delightful in “Follow Me.” The 4-minute R&B cut is sweet and melodic, with plenty of sultry musical moments to swoon over. We’re not the most thrilled with the quality of the song’s production, but with a little more tightness, “Follow Me” has the potential to really blast off as an ode to R&B tracks of yesteryear. “Follow Me” is a solid track that will turn ears towards Jamar Germain.
