Olivia Cella Interview About Her Latest Music Video “Us 2”
So, what’s the inspiration behind you “Us 2”?
When I was in the studio recording my last single Missing U, I had extra studio time and so my team and I put in work and started immediately brainstorming. I’ve always loved listening to old tunes with my mom in the car and I wasn’t feeling inspired so I listened to something that made me happy. I heard the song “Just the Two of Us” by Grover Washington and the rest was history.
How’s been the response been for your new song so far?
So so so so good!! Everyone who’s listened to it just keeps saying that I keep improving and getting better and that is the best thing to hear as a young artist.
What do you want your fans to take away from this song?
I want my fans to take away the good feelings behind the song. Yes, it is a love song but it also is just about leaving behind the bad things in life and realizing the sun will still shine.
What made you decide you wanted to pursue a career in music?
I was 6 years old and I saw Lady Gaga performing on TV and I was in awe. I fell in love with everything she was doing and I felt her energy and knew that I wanted to make others feel that way too.
How would you best describe your style and sound?
I would describe it as a soulful pop artist that’s getting into the RnB sound. I love listening to classic 90s music yet I love singing pop so I combined the two into my own voice.
Are there any female artists who inspire you?
So many artists inspire me, but Lady Gaga has always been my top favorite. She’s the real deal, she possesses so much talent and continues to better her music everyday. She puts in so much work and I admire her talent and love for music.
What is your recording process like?
My recording process is a whole process haha. I always need time to warm up to the studio and then it hits me and I put all my energy into the song and can pump out a song in 2 hours.
Is there anything you do to get in “the zone” before a performance?
To get into the zone I always sit by myself and just go through the whole song in my head. I visualize everything I need to do and remember all the technique I need and then right before I step on stage I throw technique and everything I’ve prepared out the window and just do what I feel.
What’s next for you?
I’m going to continue working and bettering my image, sound, and talent. I’m going to be working on my performance and on up and coming songs of course. Singing is my whole life and will always be.
